Today is the day! Summer 2019 Registration is NOW OPEN! Are you ready to Unleash your faith with us? We are SO READY!
For Summer 2019, we will be exploring what it means to unleash our faith. Matthew 17:20 says that if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can move mountains. We are hoping to teach our campers that we serve a powerful God and if we have faith in Him and His kingdom, great things can happen! Sarah Moseley, our Summer Camp Director, has shared her expectations and excitement for Summer 2019 and exploring what it means to Unleash our faith. Hopefully after reading her words, you will be just as excited as we all are for Summer 2019.
“I’ve always been obsessed with Colorado. I think it’s because I grew up listening to John Denver and Rocky Mountain High is one of my favorite songs. Ever since I was a little girl I’ve always wanted to visit Colorado and see the Rocky Mountains. So this past spring, for my 27th birthday, that dream came true. I spent a week visiting, exploring, and going on adventures in Colorado. It did not disappoint. Every morning when I woke up and went outside, I would feel overwhelmed at the sight of the Rockies, especially Pikes Peak, towering over 14,000 feet high. With every mountain I climbed and explored, Pikes Peak was always towering over me and the landscape. It was incredibly beautiful and so intimidating. Driving to the top was nerve-wracking and time consuming so I can only imagine how tall it must have felt to those folks who hiked it from bottom to top.
Pikes Peak intimidated me. I felt so incredibly small in comparison. Who was I in comparison to this gigantic piece of earth?
Jesus said if we have faith as small as a mustard seed we can tell a mountain to move and it will do so. I’ve got to tell you, staring up at a mountain like Pikes Peak, telling it to move, and expecting it to happen is scary. Impossible is a word that comes to mind. Yet, that’s exactly the opposite of what Jesus tells us. “Nothing will be impossible for you.” Nothing. And even crazier still is that our faith only has to be the size of a mustard seed to accomplish such incredible feats.
When things are going well for me, I feel like my faith is so strong, bold, big and secure. But if I’m completely honest, I think my faith is more like the size of a mustard seed in the face of hard times, adversity and challenges. The cool thing is that the size of my faith doesn’t diminish the power of who I have faith in. God can do impossible things because He is God, not because of how big, strong, proud or fearless I am. As long as we have faith in Him, nothing is impossible.
What amazing things could we as Christians accomplish if instead of wondering how we measure up to obstacles, we focus on putting our trust in Jesus to move mountains? This coming summer we hope to explore more about unleashing our faith and what wonderful things God can do and what kind of mountains he can move as long as we have a little faith, even if it’s only the size of a mustard seed.
We hope to see you this coming summer at Asbury Hills as we unleash our faith.“

“He replied, ‘Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing is impossible for you.”
